Republican strategist Rick Wilson had a field day with President Donald Trump’s ‘bipartisan’ immigration meeting on Tuesday night.
During a discussion about immigration reform, an issue that could have serious repercussions on the budget as a government shutdown looms, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) asked Trump if he would support a clean bill reinstating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
Contradicting his repeated refusals to help keep immigrants in the United States, Trump said, “Yeah, I would like to do it.”
Trump’s reversal forced House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to stop him before he went any further.
But the damage was already done. And now Democrats expect Trump to negotiate with them or risk a shutdown. After all, he literally just agreed to support such a bill.
After playing footage of Trump’s foot-in-mouth disease moment, Reid asked Rick Wilson to make sense of it all:
“Rick, the entire premise of the Trump campaign was Mexico is sending its worst, we’re going to end immigration, and build a wall. How did he suddenly go from that to being Marco Rubio? What is happening?”
Wilson responded by hilariously mocking Trump:
“I think Donald Trump got his ‘Gang of Eight’ tattoo tonight and the Members Only jacket for RINO cuck immigration squishes, because this is a guy who literally sat there today and shredded the entire Bannon and Steve Miller agenda on building the wall and throwing out the brown people. It was a clown show.”
An amused Reid then informed Wilson that he gets to be the one who breaks the news to Ann Coulter.
After playing footage of Sarah Huckabee Sanders trying to explain what Trump thinks a “clean DACA bill” means, Reid once again turned to Wilson for an explanation.
And he did not disappoint when he said:
“You know, Sarah Sanders is just the White House mistress of word vomit and every day something new just pops out. This is a White House led by a man that does not have, shall we say, intellectual heft when it comes to understanding complex items of the policy agenda. He’s overcome by basically inanimate objects every day. Like I said, that ‘Gang of Eight’ tramp-stamp tattoo he is getting will look awesome.”

We all know that Trump is going to backtrack on what he said repeatedly about not making a deal on DACA, so he can’t be trusted. It appears Trump is hoping to trick Democrats into supporting his immigration policies first. And if they do, he’ll stab them in the back and refuse to sign a DACA bill. Democrats should not fall into this trap.
DACA funding should be a clean bill that comes first so it’s off the table as a negotiating chip on the budget. Republicans and Trump should not be holding our nation hostage to get their way, especially when they are the ones who repealed DACA in the first place.
